The Sky, the Ocean, the Clouds

The weather changed every half an hour throughout our vacation. Despite the fact that the beach is surrounded by a coral reef, and there are almost no waves, the wind would blow nonstop.
When the wind blew lightly, coconuts would drop from the palm trees.

When the wind blew heavily, you had to shake the sand out of your ears after five minutes of lying on the beach. The nature around us would go through several different states in one day. I wanted to capture the beauty of every moment of ever state on my camera.

Since the day was quite short, we’d agreed to get up at 6:30, in order to have enough time to do as many things as possible while the sun was still up. For me, this sort of wakeup routine is a feat comparable to climbing Mount Kilimanjaro.

Obviously, I couldn’t just let these clouds, and these infinite shades of colour on the water and in the sky just pass me by. Caribbean landscapes capture you with their dramatic views and the brightest colour combinations.

This bird had caught a long, thin fish. The fish wouldn’t give up on life, and kept trying to break free. The bird would catch it in the air and near the surface of the water over and over.

If you look closely, you will be able to see part of a rainbow

This photo was taken by my husband. He was lying on the sand. I wonder why he takes photos of me with a big pipe in the background, while this unknown lady has a beautiful landscape behind her. My inner Freud says...no, my inner Freud is silent.

Early in the morning, there was almost nobody on the beach. In the evening, everyone would already be at the bar or at the casino. And at night, under the moonlight, only the two of us walked down the shore. I feel like many people are missing all these magical moments. Picture this – warm ocean water, an enormous moon. Then suddenly, two big  birds fly by, and disappear in the clouds.

To be continued ...

  4. I can't believe the colours of the water and the sky, almost like in a dream. The bird with the fish is amazing too. Normally I don't like getting up early but in Venice, it felt good to get the most out of the days. Beautiful photos.

  7. Are the weather changes a feature of this time of year or is it always like that?

Certainly makes for a dynamic holiday!

  8. Hi Sarah !

We talked with the locals about the weather. They say it is always windy. But because of the wind we didn't feel humidity.
