Three
The number three is a magic number - there is no doubt about it. It's no coincidence that so many authors used it in the titles of their works - Dumas's The Three Musketeers, Three Men In a Boat by Jerome K Jerome, Three Sisters by Chehov, and Bertold Brecht's The Threepenny Opera.
And, of course, the genie will only grant you three wishes.
If you have any other ideas about where to find the number three, feel free to leave it in the comments.
Meanwhile, I have a special reason for thinking of the number three today. My blogger friend Sarah Elizabeth has given birth to a daughter - you can find both of them here.
I would like to celebrate this event with this post and the photos in it. Sarah-Elizabeth - this is for you, your family, and your little one!

Hello Olga,
ReplyDeletewhat beautiful photos!
The idea of photographing the crack was great.
In fact the number three is very charismatic, represents balance.
A big hug from all of the studio
Gorgeous photos! I love them all but that hors d'oeuvre tray of three - yummy! If you get three of a kind or three "sevens" in Vegas- you are one lucky son of a gun! Nice weekend to you! =)
ReplyDeleteI was thinking as I scrolled down, yes, 3 is a design feature of nature too, it is a form of balance.
ReplyDeleteDelightful post, Olga, and what a fun idea. You are always so creative-- and have the beautiful photos to illustrate all your stories! Bon weekend, Olga. Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)

"The Three Billy Goats Gruff"; old movie/song, "Three Coins in a Fountain"; three candles on a birthday cake, for past, present and future. There are 3 examples of 3. Nice post!

Dear Olga

Hugs Yvonne
Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLovely photos, as usual. Gotta love the number three!
ReplyDeleteOlga,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful series of photos and intriguing post! ! Three is a lucky and happy number in Japan also. The number Three reminds me of many things; three happy plants which are pine, bamboo and plum used in celebrational occasions. And also a charm of three monkeys, “See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil.” I’m not sure if this means positive or negative. Three sacred imperial treasures. Gold, silver and bronze metals, and more.
I was late to visit your blog “Why I Adore the Night”. What an interesting one! I left comment.
Thank you for sharing them. My congratulations to your friend!
Best wishes,
keiko
Bella idea...tutto in tre! bellissime foto e la prima più di tutte! e che colori! ciao Cri : )
ReplyDeleteOlga, good reflection for today:)
ReplyDeleteAristotle was convinced that the Three contains in itself, at first, middle, and end, which also comes to indicate which is the symbol of perfect harmony.
Your photos today, I'll take the No. 10. I have hunger:))
Congratulations to your friend Sarah Elizabeth. by his daughter:))
A kiss.
How wonderful! What a lovely tribute. Congratulations to Sarah Elizabeth and her husband. Have a happy week, love Linda x

Hello,Olga.
ReplyDeleteI have to say that three is special number for me in my life. My birthday is July third. Interesting post!
Tomoko.
wonderful post Full of color.
ReplyDeletestatues flowers ducks......
Nothing to do but to enjoy
:)
Beautiful photos Olga. I have 3 grandsons but what we would always say in France was “jamais deux sans trois” (never two without a third.) It does not sound the same in English but let say, if you break 2 things, then you’ll break a 3rd one.
ReplyDeleteHi Tomoko,
ReplyDeleteIt seems that three really is a special number for you. You can make three wishes on your birthday :)
Hi A Lady`s Life,
I`m glad you liked it. I really enjoy capturing colour at the moment when it attracts my attention.
Hi Vagabonde,
I had no idea about "if you break two things, you'll break a third one", but I guess there is logic in it. I also really liked the French expression.
Looking back through your blog, I realised I missed this lovely post. What a good visual essay on the number "3". I love it.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed your take on the number three. Great variety here Olga!
ReplyDeleteI just realised I never thanked you for this beautiful post (mummy brain!) Thank you once again for dedicating another beautiful post to my little family, now of three rather than 2. I've shown baby Alba the pictures and she says her favourite is the ducks! Lots of love to you from us all x x
