Royal Botanical Gardens
Springtime reminds me of a stage production. Maybe a play; maybe a vaudeville or an operetta. The characters are larger than life; the decorations have only the brightest colours, and the songs are only of the greatest love imaginable. This overflowing beauty makes you want to jump on the stage and take part in the proceedings.
I think springtime gives us the opportunity to do something like that.
I also realized that I love the hear the sound of magnolia flowers falling down. The process of this little piece of flora detaching and falling into the grass can be heard from the beginning to the end. You can close your eyes and still hear the life of this tree. Cherry trees, in the meantime, lose their petals quietly, and they are only to be observed.
I hope you enjoyed this little stroll around the gardens.

The color saturation on these pictures is so intense! It's hard to believe sometimes what beauty our earth is capable of. Thanks, Olga!
ReplyDeleteWow, just what I needed . . .
ReplyDeletethese fantastic flower photos are what Spring should be. I especially love your tulip studies. Magnificent collection.
Here, another side of Spring is removing a lot of beauty, with some terrible tornados that don't know when to stop. So your bright and cheery photos are most welcome. Thank you Olga. xoxo

Hello Olga:
ReplyDeleteIf ever there was a picture of spring, then surely this post is it. Such wonderful, cheery images all of which deserve comment individually. But perhaps, for us, it is the first, of the deep purple and slate blue tulips, which so captures our attention. The combination is superb.
And we have, oh shame, never listened for the fall of the Magnolia flower. Such a lovely and so personal an idea.
Un superbe parterre de fleurs pour annoncer une journée douce heure :)

Hi Rick,
For me, it's near impossible to stop when I'm photographing tulips in the Botanical Gardens. There are so many of them. Every year, they plant new varieties. Yes, all these news about tornadoes are extremely devastating.
Hi Gisa,
Thank you very much. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Hi Sophia,
Yes, I would say that pink - in the amount that you can encounter it in the springtime; especially when you're around crab apple trees - fills the soul with joy.
Hi once in a blue moon,
I had a moment in the magnolia garden when I thought that such a beautiful place can only exist in heaven.
Hi Dianne,
ReplyDeleteI also find that spring colours are so attractive because they are fresh, new, and give us hope :)
Hi Daigo,

Hi Jane and Lance Hattatt,
I love taking photos of tulips. Under each light, they are unpredictably beautiful. I'm glad I had a moment to spend in the magnolia garden when there was no one around; it was quiet, and only the magnolia leaves were falling to the ground.
Hi Marie,
Je vous remercie. Je suis content que vous avez aimé ces photos. Il n'a pas été facile pour moi de les prendre. Je pense que j'ai besoin de vous inscrire à un cours de yoga.
Hi Tinajo,
Thank you for your compliment - we really have a gorgeous botanical garden here in Ontario.
Hi Pet,

Hi Richard,
C'est absolument vrai. J'ai été en appréciant les parfums, après avoir pris mes pilules d'allergie à l'avance :)

Hi Peter,
In these gardens, there are always subjects for photographs. Despite the fact that the Royal Botanical Gardens are quite far from our home, we always use the chance to drive out and visit them.
