Santa Claus Parade in Toronto
These photos are from the previous weekend. The truth is, this weekend was devoted to getting ready for a group exhibition, which is opening next week. Since it was rainy, and it was already dark at 4 o`clock, I wasn`t too upset. Especially since last week I had managed to capture an event that is anticipated not only by the children but also by the adults of Toronto.
I have to note that I have never seen as many clowns as there were this year. And they were unstoppable.
I also really liked all the kids dressed up as various characters. It was interesting to observe them because some played the roles, while other were just being themselves - and still other were so tired that they completely ignored the crowd.
We have really enjoyed ourselves, even though it was difficult to take these photos. I was squeezed from every side!

wow the colors are so vivid!
ReplyDeleteLooks so fun! The Santa Claus music parade is cool! I have to fly to Tronto, joining it.
ReplyDeleteTomoko from Japan.
I love a good Santa parade!!! I have never seen one in person, maybe one day. My favourite part of any parade is always the bag pipes! Must be the Scottish in me!!! Thanks for the photos!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great time.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy your visits to carnivals and parades. They are always well shot and tell the story.
ReplyDeleteKOmeat ovat juhlallisuudet. Värikästä ja tapahtuma rikasta.
ReplyDeleteHieno 'kuva-kavalgaadi'.
Meillä viikonvaihteen talviurheilu tapahtuman jälkeen hiljaista.
Pohjoisempana Aurinko hävisi melkein kahdeksi-kuukaudeksi...!
Täysi Kaamos...!

ReplyDeleteThis looks amazingly fun! Usually, I´m not that fond of clowns - but some of these looked friendly enough..! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI don't know why but clowns always make me feel sad.
ReplyDeleteThat looks fun. Love the 'Naughty/Nice' card and the clown shovelling horse poo. The Mounties look pretty impressive as do the other mounted cops(?), with beautiful horses.
I like especially the pictures with the 2 girls with fake noses:)For me it's a bit early for Christmas but I know that it is different in different part of the world:)
ReplyDeleteWhat a marvelous parade! Wow. And you got great pictures. I think that one with the clown holding the sign pointing to "Naughty and Nice" above the policemen is hilarious!
ReplyDeleteHello Olga,
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful pictures!
Congratulations
What a load of crazy fun :)
ReplyDeleteGood job . . . and I know how tough it is to shoot parade pictures (ha.)
ReplyDeleteIt's a lot to expect kids to stay "in character" throughout the whole parade route. (We've lost some of them, to be sure.)
Poor clown that pulled "shovel duty."
Love the horses! I can hear the bagpipes wailing on a somewhat brisk day.
ReplyDeleteLooks like it was a lot of fun and your photos are fantastic. Diane
ReplyDeleteThis parade has a bit of everything, love the red noses on the kids.
ReplyDeleteA colorful parade, although I must admit all the clowns would have made me a little nervous.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a fun event. I love the sound of bagpipes. Lots of red colors in this parade- perfect for the holidays and Canada! =)
ReplyDeleteОльга, какое разноцветье и разнообразие персонажей!
ReplyDeleteСпасибо за репортаж, очень понравилось!
Very nice catches. I love the set Olga :)

I would love to have been there but the next best thing was to see your great photos.
ReplyDeleteThese photos are spectacular! I feel like I was at the actual parade. :)
ReplyDeleteSo wonderful event!!!Kisses my friend!!Perfect photos!!!
ReplyDeleteLove your photos... they really capture the fun and festivity :-)
ReplyDeleteSanta surely flies really fast. He was in Helsinki just a few days ago! ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed by men in black on black horses. They look stunning. Especially horses *_*
oh dear, clowns really scare me :) I blame this on stephen king's 'it'.
ReplyDeletegood luck with your group exhibition!
Santa Claus is coming to town.... ♪ What a colorful and fun parade! I feel as if I were there enjoying the parade and people-watching. Your photos are stunning as always.

Ładną zabawę przedstawiłaś na swoich fotografiach. Tym cieszą się nie tylko dzieci, ale i dorośli. Radość i uśmiech są w życiu potrzebne.
ReplyDeleteDear Olga,
ReplyDeleteYou have such a great eye!
I hope your week is not too stressful getting ready for your show.
Good luck and best wishes!
Hi Olga, hope you are keeping well. Christmas seems to start earlier each year!

What a spectacle of enjoyment! It is wonderful when people can dress up and express themselves in the enjoyment of an event. It is what keeps us going in the harder times and emits rays of hope and light into the future.
ReplyDeleteHow much fun! For being squeezed from all side, you sure got some great shots!
ReplyDeleteOlá Olga, belas fotografias...Espectacular....
ReplyDeleteCumprimentos
You might have been 'squeezed in' but you captured the atmosphere of this event very well....some great images.........

Such a lovely parade!! For a moment I went back to my childhood!! thanks for sharing!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, that looks fabulous - and it looks like it was a nice day, too! Why all the clowns, though? Strange.
ReplyDeleteDear all,
ReplyDeleteThank you very much for your wonderful comments. It`s starting to be the time when there are a lot of events going on. One of the most important ones is that we seem to have finally chosen a house, and we are in the process of acquiring it. Of course, when everything is more settled, I`ll tell more about it - and even show the way the rooms are painted :)
At the moment, my priority is to visit your blogs, to see how you are doing. To be honest, I really miss blogging more often.
A great and magnificent show. We never see such a show. Children and adults rejoice. That's good. Beautiful series of photos, Olga. / Peter
ReplyDeleteHi Peter,
ReplyDeleteYes, I think both the kids and the adults were enjoying themselves. I was delighted :)
