The renovation continues: I have lost track of the days

Our contractor checks the quality of his work from time to time and makes these marks. Our renovation continues.

This wall needs another large hole for the range hood, which we have apparently forgotten about. When our contractor found out that he was about to knock a hole in the wall and install this thing, he looked at us in disbelief, sighed, and said "Let's do it, guys." What do you think - is he an angel or what?

One of the advantages of renovation is that we have tried all the restaurants in our neighbourhood and have started to expand the circle.

We are still very optimistic.

  1. The food photos made me so hungry. It's 10:30am now and I haven't had brunch.

  2. What tasty looking dishes, and full of colour too! With such a supply I wouldn't mind house renovations to take a long long time :-)

  3. Before I met him my other half went a year without a kitchen in his (at the time) new place so he got to know the local restaurants very well indeed. Good luck with the continued renovations.

  6. I'm sure your builder has heard worse...

The food looks lovely - there's always a silver lining, even to having the builders in!

  7. I know it seems like an eternity, but really it has only been a couple weeks (2 weeks) is what the contractor in Money Pit says throughout the movie...with Tom Hanks!

  9. A great selection of restaurants around you. That last picture of the guy sitting out on the girder made me laugh, hope you aren't that desperate yet.

  10. One of the great advantages of renovations has to be the fact you have to eat out. :)

  11. Dear Olga I retract my comment about "only" two weeks, I was without my kitchen sink for 4 days and felt like I was camping, very inconvinient. I hope it is getting closer to being done!

  13. Olga,
Things seem to happen one after another, or one thing leads to another. I think it is good to be very optimistic. Relax, relax.

  14. My goodness Olga, your life is rather topsy-turvy at the moment isn't it. I am sure it will all be worth it once your have your house back, and the contractor's artwork (ie chalk circles) has long gone! I do hope Deniska has managed to find himself a quiet place amidst the bustle.

  15. Wow I am just losing track of the day with 3 rooms being put into the barn. Thankfully our kitchen was finished early 2006 so that will have to last us. The thing is when it is all finished you have a lovely home to look forward to. Take care Diane
