Kitchen Renovation - Day 3

This house was built in the 1930s. It's interesting to see - in the 2010s - what it is made of.

The walls and ceiling are not just crooked but also wrongly proportioned.

Since the idea is to cover everything with drywall, I can see that it bends in the places where the walls are crooked. It is especially obvious in this spot near the window.

You can also notice the slant of the ceiling here, because the drywall that has already been attached is absolutely straight.

Today, I had the highly responsible and pleasant job of finding the right colour for the kitchen. Oh my God! What kinds of names these colours have!

This will be my husband and I in case this renovation doesn't end on time. (Picture from the Internet.)

  3. Fascinating to see the foundations from another era! My heart goes out to you with the renovation! It will be wonderful when done, but I know the process is very stressful! My brother has taken his whole house -- built in 1927 and never remodeled before -- down to the framing, too, while he, his wife and their two kids -- one a six week old baby -- live in the garage. Needless to say, they're counting the days. Hope you end up with a beautiful, perfect-for-you kitchen!

  6. In response to your last pic...I was thinking the same thing only a bit more on the Alice in Wonderland Mad Hatter side, kind of topsy turvey.

  9. Nearly there!
Love the perception of events if all does not end well! ..... But it will!

  10. It is a good idea to keep a photo diary of your kitchen renovation and what kind of 1930's framework was hiding behind the present walls; most houses aren't 'square', mine certainly isn't. Keep your sense of humour dear Olga, it will be good to look back on these images when you have your brand new kitchen. Good luck with choosing a colour.

  11. Do not tell falsehoods in an interview. The interviewer might look into your information, which can lead to you being disqualified. Even if the interviewer doesn't double check everything you say, satta king claiming that you have a skill or knowledge that you do not have can come back to haunt you.
