A Home You'd Like To Return To

This summer has turned out to be a very busy one.  I am grateful to all who continue reading my blog and commenting. These photos are from the previous weekend, when we went to visit our friends. Their house is such that you would like to return to again and again.

Here are a few photos:

We cooked mussels.

For those who eat meat, there was meat. I really liked this combination of colours.

The colours in the salad was very summery.

In this house, you feel like looking at and taking photos of every little thing that you find. Can you believe this boy's suitcases are salt and pepper shakers?

This family is Russian-American - and what Russian-American party can be without tea?

We has a wonderful time. Even the neighbours weren't too upset that we were singing till midnight.

Here is some art from my studio. I'm going to post more soon - keep checking; there will be some rather interesting things. Intrigued?

  5. What a feast, Olga, and what a fun house! You have an eye for detail, and your friends love details... a match made in Heaven, no doubt. I looked at your photos twice, because there was so much to see. It was fun, actually. :-) I have the exact same plate with the Eiffel Tower, and I loved how you - or someone else - put a macaron on it! Nice touch :') Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)

  8. Как же это хорошо - иметь таких замечательных друзей! Фото рассматриваю и рассматриваю, на них столько как прелестных, так и вкусных деталей. Чувствуется, что это была задушевная встреча. Поэтому и хочется возвращаться в такой дом!

  22. I'd certainly like to visit your friends - their home looks hospitable, friendly, warm and altogether delightful - and the food wonderful. I fell in love with the quaint little bathing beauty knives. I imagine they are vintage, from the fifties. I love things like that!

I'm glad you had such a splendid visit.

  23. What a feast for the eyes! The meal must have been outstanding. I would have liked to taste the dessert and above all the chocolate. Was it Belgian chocolate? I saw the Paris napkins and plates – a truly cosmopolitan table.
