Underneath my windows is the road that schoolkids walk down to get to the nearest elementary school. Same way as, in Venice, there is a Bridge of Sighs, I call this road the Road of Crying. Sometimes, without intending to, I witness many dramatic scenarios that happen to these young people - particularly the first graders. However, the story that happened yesterday was particularly cute, and I would like to share it with you.
Two eight-year-old boys were walking by the window, speaking Russian. Their dialogue was as follows -
Boy #1: "You see, I would just like to be happy."
- Pause -
Boy #2: "Me too."
I wonder what the dramatic pause was all about.
I'm definitely one of the people with the same wish. What about you?
These photos of peach trees are from the last weekend, when we visited an organic peach garden. I hope you will have a great weekend!
Dear Olga
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures! The photos of the peach trees are fantastic
I wish you a happy weekend with a lot of sun.
Yvonne
Cute story - all the thoughts in their minds..! :-)
ReplyDeleteGosh, all those peaches makes me drool - peaches are one of my great weaknesses so I should really live in a country where I can grow them. :-)
Great photos of the fruit stand. I could have done some serious shopping there! Loved those two little boys. Eight year olds. They are happy, but they don't know it yet. ;-) Veronique (French Girl in Seattle)
ReplyDeleteBeing happy is the only important thing in life I think. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd peach trees also makes me happy. :) Nature is so wonderful!
Greetings, Bahar
Beautiful peaches. As for happiness that is a more difficult subject. I'll pause too. :-)
ReplyDeleteHello Olga:
ReplyDeleteAs for debate about the pursuit and discovery of happiness, well that could take some time, but as for the simple pleasures in fresh peaches, yes, happiness ripe and ready!!
Your photographs of the market produce are so exciting, the many colours making a natural kaleidoscope for our delight!
My very favorite thing to do is to visit small organic growers, and shoot pics of their produce . . . your photos are fantastic. It doesn't get any fresher than this. I'm excited, cause it's almost apple picking time. Yay.

Oh I just want to be happy as well. Love the photos. Not sure which is really my favourite, I love the dog in the window and the rest just make my mouth water :-) Diane
ReplyDeleteYour summer shots are amazing, always!
ReplyDeleteI just travel when I saw them!!!
Congrats!
Up close and personal just like your photos. Beautiful. Peaches make me happy and onions make me cry. I wish it was that simple! =)
ReplyDeleteoh, so beautiful. and the boys, sigh.
ReplyDeleteDelicious Peaches!!! Onions in Greece are not cleaning before buying.Fantastic photos!!! bravo! kisses from Greece.
ReplyDeleteYOu know something, I have never seen peaches growing on trees like that. I have seen peach trees but never during fruiting. And in England they wouldn't have that wonderful and perfect fruit except in a greenhouse.
ReplyDeleteAs for the boys, yes, an interesting little pause. Maybe Boy 2 was merely reflecting on his friends words, perhaps he was too young to think what he would like to be. I seem to remember that stage in my life..... ah....
I would be happy with some of those peaches!
ReplyDeleteah kids, "out of the mouths of babes" ...
ReplyDeleteI'd have to agree with their wish though. Now, if only it was easy finding happiness.
I wonder why the boy said that, what went on leading up to that point.
ReplyDeleteThe peaches in the sun look so inviting. Mmm
Cute story, yes I would like to be happy too!
ReplyDeleteThese images are so lovely Olga, the peach trees look so beautiful adorned with their fruits, all of the produce looks fresh and delicious.
Have a great weekend.
xoxoxo ♡
WOW The young boy already know what´s about in life!!! HOpe he succeeds!!! Wise words!!! and as for your lovely peaches pics!!! beautiful eprspective!!!
ReplyDeleteJuste heureux... Eh oui, c'est ce que tout le monde souhaite. Y arrivons-nous? Et faisons-nous durer le bonheur?
ReplyDeleteEn tout cas, bravo pour tes superbes photos!
What a wonderful place that peach farm is, practically sufficient for happiness.
ReplyDeleteSuperb shots........Glorious colour and light.
ReplyDeleteDelicious photos and a wonderful dog in the window!
ReplyDeleteOlga,
ReplyDeleteThe peaches looks luscious and I can almost taste a pie made from them. The produce at this time of year is so abundant and colourful. You've captured it beautifully.
-Karen
Собака какая в окне, боже!
ReplyDeleteДиалог мальчиков - представила в лицах, чудесно!
I love fruit and the peaches are so good :)
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures
I love peaches =)
ReplyDeleteRegards
I think this is what we all want...to be happy...to feel safe. Your photos are gorgeous Olga, the third one of the dangling peaches is my favorite...I adore the light and the way the peaches are aligned.
ReplyDeleteOh those peaches!!!!
ReplyDeleteThey look so scrumptious!
The boys all want to be happy but life is hard and going to school every day must be harder lol
Syksyn sadon korjuun aikaan...
ReplyDeleteMahtavaa kuvasarjaa on mukava katsella ja herkutella.
Iso sato - onnellista aikaa...!
Wouldn't we all - so poignant.
ReplyDeleteI love the sun-dappled peaches. Gorgeous.
Your peach photos made me happy, they are one of my favorite fruits and so wonderful this time of year. Have a great week-end.
ReplyDeleteNo pause for me, me too! Beautiful study of color and shapes.
ReplyDeleteOh how those peaches remind me of my youth growing up in Canada. I refuse to buy peaches here, or in London, as they are dry and taste of nothing. Certainly, nothing like the real peaches grown locally where I lived in B.C. Enjoy your weekend Olga dear.
ReplyDeleteCuanta fruta y vitaminas¡¡ Fotos muy frescas¡¡¡
ReplyDeleteEs un placer para mi que visites mi web. Saludos.
Hi Yvonne,
ReplyDeleteThank you for the compliment. I adore this season of fruits and vegetables. They give us so many delicious moments :)
Hi tinajo,
I think that, with you two boys, you must learn something new about the world constantly :)
Hi Veronique,
You`re absolutely right. They can`t even imagine how fortunate they are at the moment.
Hi Bahar,
Thank you for visiting and commenting. You can`t imagine how many people don`t take the time to consider what happiness means to them.
Hi Pet,
Why doesn`t it surprise me that you paused? :)
Hi Jane and Lance Hattatt,
ReplyDeleteAt one point, I began to appreciate the simple moments of joy that life gives us no matter what :)
Hi Rick,
I also love this season. It grants us so many pleasant moments. So many flavours and fragrances.
Hi Diane,
When I saw the dogs in the window, my first impression was that it was a person :)
Hi artebaiao,
It was a special day in that peach orchard. Thank you for the compliments. I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
Hi Sandy,
I'm seeking the simple pleasures. There's enough complication in our lives already.
Hi Angella,
ReplyDeleteThank you :) I always wonder what's in the heads of these little treasures :)
Hi Φανή Παπαγεωργίου, Ζωγράφος,
In Canada, they usually don't peel the onions either. It was just a fancy place where they sold them :)
Hi Jenny,
I don't remember myself at all at that age. I only recall the school I hated to go to.
I love to visit gardens and orchards. At that moment, the sun was shining, and the blowing breeze carried the fragrance of peaches everywhere.
Hi Randy,
This season passes by so quickly. Get them while you can :)
Hi hila,
I'm glad to hear that you believe a person is capable of being happy. I have friends that consider happiness unattainable.
Hi Sarah,
ReplyDeleteMy daughter mentioned the same thing - she was wondering what they were talking about before uttering those phrases.
Hi Dianne,
Just the affirmation that happiness is possible can have a strong effect on a person.
Hi Colores,
For me, it's surprising to hear them think of these questions at such a young age. Grownups tend to see children as naturally happy, but of course, they are more complex.
Hi Richard,
Je pourrais vous décevoir, mais j'ai quelques amis qui ne pensent pas le bonheur est possible.
Hi mise,
I can tell you for sure that I was happy while taking these photos :)
Hi Adrian,
ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind words. I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
Hi R. Jacob,
Funny enough, when I saw that dog, I thought it was a little old lady in the window :)
Hi Karen,
I will also recall that moment during cold winter evenings :)
Hi Nadya,
Представляешь, как они всё это произносили своими сладкими детскими голосками.
- Понимаешь, я просто хочу быть счастлив.- И я тоже.
Но обычно здесь стоит рёв до начала классов и после. Особенно в начале года.
Hi Fabio,
Thank you for visiting. I appreciate your compliment :)
Hi Sergio,
ReplyDeleteI love them too :)
Hi LauraX,
I have a feeling that I'm already happy. Despite certain difficulties.
Hi A Lady's Life,
I also think that, at the start of school, happiness is squeezed out of boys' lives a little bit.
Hi Eko,
Hyvää aikaa tosiaan! En halua menettää näitä hetkiä ennen kylmä sää alkaa.
Hi Talli,
Come here for the peaches!
Hi lilylovekin,
ReplyDeleteI'm with you. Warm, fragrant juicy peaches can make you happy for a moment.
Hi T. Becque,
I'm glad to hear that. It means that you are happy at this moment :)
Hi Dolly,
I think that, when the season passes, peaches are impossible to eat. It's like stuffing plastic bags in your mouth.
Hi Juan,
Gracias por su visita. Estamos acumulando algunas vitaminas, porque el invierno es largo en Canadá.
Oh that dog in the window! At first I thought it was a person. She looks very wise and curious. The picture is one of my favorites, because it made me smile inside. :)
ReplyDeleteWonderfulPictures
ReplyDeleteHi Susanna,
ReplyDeleteIt this dog had a hat, you couldn't tell him from a person. Thank you for visiting :)
Hi BrandNewStudio,
Thank you for your compliment!
I finished my dinner a few minutes ago, and your photos made me hungry again :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Ekaterina,
ReplyDeleteSorry, I wouldn't like to be a threat to your figure :)
Hi Evanir,
I'm glad you have visited my blog. Thank you for your lovely comment.
Haha, no threats, don't worry. I don't get any fat even after huge pizza :) My curse-blessing.
